Domain Name

Postby Zeeke on Mon Apr 24, 2006 4:54 pm

im Wracking my brain ere..... a few weeks ago... I had issues with a fishing website.. mainly the admin had gotten too commercial and started banning longterm members for invalid reasons.. and banning members with made up rules.. I personally had over 2000 posts... and even tho I hadnt posted for over a week at the time, I was banned..

So... i returned my website http://www.fishseq.com into a fishing forum... Scored 200 members from the other fishing site in 2 weeks because they felt they were being victimised.... unfortunately... I now need a new domain name for me to host my fotos.. and i cant for the life of me.. think of a good name... so.. im throwing out the idea to any bored members here who are bored enough to come up with some good domain name ideas for me

Cheers

Tim

Tim - I think it depends on what you plan to do .....
if it is just to host photos, and link to etc, then zeekephoto.com or photozeeke.com (from blinkblink) BUT
if you plan to take your photos to a more commercial market, think about that, and I'm with Glen - something with your name ....
timwilliams.com or timwilliamsphoto.com as suggested.... makes it easier to remember for clients, and also looks a bit more professional.

That's just my opinion though :)

Thanks for the suggestions.... ive thought about using my name... but sometimes it feels like it might be a silly domain name for me.... dunno why

As for what im hosting... well.. im no pro.. so... its just for hosting my images.. and linking to my Alamy address.... also bit of a website about myself... but mostly just my crap photos

Cheers for the suggestions... let you know what i end up with

Tim

Tim, I also thought about using TimWilliams.com, but like you, somehow it feels like a silly domain name for me ... dunno why

Dick Smith once told me that if you are proud of what you do then you should put your name to it. Fairly good advice from a very successful man I suspect.

Chuck Yeager told me on the same day that you should always have a way out and always know what it is BEFORE you need it. Even better advice

Steve : I used to work for Dick Smith and had a few good conversations with the man. He still inspires me in what I do today. Some of his philosophies were to ask questions from those that know, use your imagination and never, ever give up, no matter what other people think!

I've never forgotten those words...

Cheers
