No exif in extracted jpgs?I use the preview extractor that was mentioned a while ago here.
My problem is that the extracted jpgs don't have any exif data. Is there a simple way around this?
How did you save the images? PS's "Save for the Web" kills this info, and other PS options seem to strip out some of this info.

I didn't save the jpg's. They were extracted from the RAW file by the preview extractor.
What preview extractor?
I shoot in raw, and use NCE to do most of my PP. The only issues I have relate to the quality of my shooting, and my EXIF is always intact. g.

This one. http://drchung.new21.net/previewextractor/index.html As discussed here. http://www.dslrusers.net/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=
Never used it, but I'd suggest that you've located the source of the problem.
Why not use NV and instigate a batch conversion in there? Or shoot in raw + jpg? g.

The website for that preview extractor indicates that it doesn't copy the EXIF data across. I suppose it's best used for just that.. a quick and dirty JPEG preview extractor!
The reason I went for the preview extractor was so I didn't have to shoot raw + jpg.
I guess I'll have to batch convert, which I suspect will be much slower.
What do you need the EXIF data for GC? Just curious, as I will probably use the preview extractor on occasion, just to get smaller jpeg images out for previewing before deciding which ones to PP properly (my Powerbook G4 867Mhz sadly is starting to really hate me whenever I load up big NEFs)
Much the same reason as me. I use the jpgs to decide whether or not to process further. I also use Opanda IExif which can only read exif from jpg. I don't really want to buy the pro version which I think supports Raw.
Just use NV.
Its browser gives you the ability to decide what you want to go further with, whether from raw or jpg. From there you can go straight to NC, PS, or whever other editor you wish to use. g.
