Old PhotosI was in Bowral at an old book shop on the weekend and came across a couple of books with photos stuck in them from the late 1800's. They were landscape images of scotland and sepia in colour, but what really stood out to me is the sharpness of the images. The sharpness would indeed rival any of the shots taken these days.
I was tempted to get one of the books, it was $100 and had a slightly stained cover. There was another one there for $450 too. Does anyone have any really old photos where they've found this as well?
I have two old family photos like this.
Remember that these where shot on what was called full plate or half plate negatives. So the prints where often contact prints, therefore not having any enalrgment. The print would be as sharp, or almost as sharp as the neg.
