New Guy

Postby r2160 on Thu Jan 06, 2005 9:06 pm

Hi all

The names Glenn. A friend told me about this forum yesterday so I thought I would pop on and say hi.

I bought a D70 with an 18-70 nikon lens and a 70-300 tamron lens from HN yesterday.

Just thought I would introduce myself and ask if there is anything like a roll call or anything to get to know everybody.

I still own a Nikon F401 and bought my wife (for christmas) a Coolpix 5700.

Anyway, back to the manual.

regards
Glenn

Welcome Glenn (edit: spelt your name without the second n - my Sony)

You've come to a great place. I'm a newbie here myself - only been on for about 4 weeks. Have a good poke around - Absolute Beginners section is worth a visit.

Cheers
Peter

Hey thanks guys

Just wondering, the first d70 I bought, I got it home, charged the battery, and tada, nothing. The body was stuffed!

(then had to go through the HN staff and the pain of exchanging, not hard, just time consuming)

Anybody ever heard of this happening? I have never heard of anything (but that doesnt mean much either ;-))

thanks
Glenn

Welcom Glenn - that’s real bad luck but I am sure that once you get shutter bugging we will have the pleasure of you posting some great pics.

G'day Glenn,
Welcome to the forum, You're gonna have fun with your new toy...

Wow, unlucky about the initial body, I'd imagine that's a rarity but hopefully that's all your bad luck outta the way already :-) Never had any worries with mine other than end-loser problems... touch-wood (as I hit myself on the noggin')

Cheers,
Mudder

Hi Glenn, and welcome to you.

It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all the new warm bodies floating around.

Sorry to hear about the DOAD70, but these things occasionally happen; as long it the problem was made good pronto, then all's well. DOn't forget to claim your rebate from Maxwell's

And good to see that you're already a committed Nikonaholic.

Enjoy yourself around here; I hope you'll find plenty to amuse yourself with.

$200 rebate

Postby the foto fanatic on Fri Jan 07, 2005 5:55 am

I hope there are 2 X $200 rebates coming to you, Glenn - one for each body that you have had.

And, welcome to the forum - you'll enjoy it here.

Come on in Glenn, the water's fine!

Have fun with the new toy, and don't forget the digital ethos - the delete button's there for a reason, so if there's a chance the shot may work, try it! :D

Oh, and stubbsy - a newbie here? Have you checked your posts counter lately?
