Nikkor 75-300mm f4.5 5.6 AF - Any good?Hi
I've been watching the above lens on ebay (see it here). Can any one tell me if it's a good lens, better than the 70-300 G? I don't have a lot to spend, but would like a long zoom, the 70-300 G is looking like the favourite at the mo, but if I can get a better lens second hand..... Any advice appreciated CC
The 75-300 is supposedly slightly better than the current generation's 70-300 in both flavours. I believe the 70-210 which is 1 generation previous to the 75-300 had been better received, in terms of reviewed optical quality and AF speed - however lacking the bit of extra reach in the 210-300 range.
I’m having a bid on this to add to my collection.

No problems You just have to go full manual. I like it going back to the old way’s every now & then. Makes it interesting have to work out the best settings for the image, digital makes it a lot easier to get it right by looking at the exposure strait away & seeing what adjustments you need to dial in. No Chris mist it Dame!!!!!!
No mods needed at all redline. I was going to use it to start an old Nikon lens collection & lightning shots were you just set it to infinity and stand back with the shutter open... Cheers Ray >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
