Sounds great Steve. I'm definitely intersted and I'm sure the rest of Team Manta will tag along.
Just the place to play with your new 70-200. Unless you were planning on driving your own "kite" there...!

Somewhat off topic but: Ballooning Meet
There is nothing on around here in the near future that I am aware of. the QLD club got very political a few years back and sort of imploded. There was talk of a skydiving from balloon world record attempt out at Gatton in late April but that seems to have gone very quiet. John at Ripcord Skydivers was trying to put it together.

If you are in travel mode then Easter is the time. Take your pick of Leeton in central NSW or Canberra. I suspect that Leeton will be the most interesting.

I am planning to shatter the AU hot air balloon duration record once it cools down and will be looking for offical photog/s. Probably June /July midweek.

Streuth Manta you are going to crack 2000 posts on this forum before I get to 400

An image of your record breaking flight might make a great 2000th Steve, but I don't think I'm going to last that long! (3000th maybe? I better get hold of some of that stuff Alpha7 is smoking...!)

Has anyone been to Kitefest previously?? It is on both Saturday and Sunday so I guess that we should decide which day is going to work for most people and then try and organise a time. My guess is that there won't be much flying until 2ish when the sea breeze should kick in.

Darn,, I am going to the kite fest, but in the morning, have to be back in caboolture for a camera club workshop by 2pm. BTW the redcliffe jetty is a bit of a drive away from the park,,, the park is north side of the hornibrook bridge,,

Was really looking forward to seeing some of you guys there, with abit of luck maybe I may be stopped , tiny lady with damn big camera and older friend . This is a pretty shocking pic, but its me,

Thanks Suzanne, glad someone knows what they are talking about. :)
There is a pathway into Pelican Park directly opposite the traffic lights at the intersection with Maine Rd. I wised up and had a look at a map. 8) I would post a copy of the map but after several attempts I now know I know nothing about the web. The map I looked at I got courtesy of the Whereis site.

Don't think I can make this one.

I have a Saturday night birthday party in Bris. and belated Mother's day, several birtrhdays and catch up with our kids in Bris. Sunday Lunch.

I was looking forward to it but will certainly catch up with those of you who are going to O'reilly's the following weekend.

Have a great time. Hoping to see some great results posted
