Image Size - Flickr help needed

Postby barry on Tue May 16, 2006 11:11 am

The image below is a shot I uploaded to flickr at 800 pixels on longest size to drop into one of my posts.

When reading the post I noticed the image was relatively small compared to other posts on this forum.

I also noticed the file is now 500x258 pixels which probably explains why it appears small in my post. I can only assume Flickr resized the file.

Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it to get the maximum allowable image size.

Barry

Barry, I think you have linked to a flickr thumbnail. Maybe post your flickr account and we can look at the images there? Or does your account default to small display?

Glen,

This is the actual image not a thumbnail.

Will PM account details.

Just to clarify Barry, your flickr account address, not your account details like password, etc

Barry, just went to your account and realised I was not smart enough to help you. They offer a number of sizes, the medium which is 500 pixels wide, or large which is 1024 pixels wide, neither which fit particularly well with our sizes. I could see no other option to vary sizes. Will change title to this thread to add Flickr help to see if any other Flickr members can help.

Hey Barry,

Try this. When you click on an image you will get a few icons on top one of them will be "All Sizes". Click on it. It will show you all the sizes for the image. Now right click on image, select the properties and paste in the forrum

Image

and voila

Let me know if this works... if not back to the drawing board for me :):)

Cheers
Mak
