SB800 Repair

Postby sirhc55 on Wed May 17, 2006 1:38 pm

If anyone is unfortunate enough to break the LCD on their SB800 as I did, you might be interested in the repair costs:

New LCD screen $79.43
Adhesives and lubricants $9.90
Labour units $99.00

OK’d on the 10th April - received back by courier today.

Obviously repaired by Maxwell.

I want to say preemptively that I lent my Sb-800 to Wendell and got it back in one piece. :)

hi craig thanks again for lending me your sb800
i needed it once to shoot social, craig was nearby so i didn't do anythign too funky with it hence why it was returned in such good condition

birdy is right don't push your luck craig, or i shouldn't

Chris did the cracked lcd affect the usability of the flash, i hardly use the lcd readout, seems expensive just to ge that bit fixed it may have been better to buy a new flash

Wendell,
Anything related to photography, the repair bill is huge, so we have to care about our investments.

I should charge you the fixing of your SB800 same amount of Chris did with his, not a case of Corona, my mistake

The LCD was unreadable but the flash worked. If you wanted to change to remote/master etc., it was impossible to know what you were doing without the LCD - hence the repair

Holy cow, that's a lot of money for a repair.

For that price you could almost buy a new SB600.
