New MAC Powerbook screenHi there,
Would just like to know if anyone has any ideas whats the difference between the matte screen and glossy screen which MACpowerbook is now offering as a non-cost option. I know that previous models use the matte screen. Is there a difference in glare? Can someone please clarify as I'm about to order one. Any respond is very much appreciated.
I didn't know it was an option. From the Apple website I gather it's glossy-only. Which I think is a shame for graphics work, but as I do my main editing with an external monitor at the moment (24" LCD attached to a 12" PowerBook) I'm prepared to put up with it for the other advantages of the MacBook (once Lightroom Beta 3 is out...).
In my experience, glossy screens do increase the contrast, but only if you have a black background behind you and you're wearing a black balaclava...
