3rd-party cable release..any opinions?

Postby beetleboy on Sun May 21, 2006 7:10 pm

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has tried out one of these babies?

I know birddog uses a 3rd party remote; I'm keen to get one cos the Nikon remote's are bloody expensive and all i want the thing to do is trip the shutter - nothing fancy!

Edit: corrected a dumb typo!

Yep - I have one I got from Birdy. Haven't tried it on my D2x yet, but it worked fine on his D2H.

It works on D2 and D100 same as D200, F5, F100, F90.
The MC30 is similar and does the same job but 10 times of its cost.

I use a Canon equivalent on my 20D - cheap, plastic and flimsy but heck, not exactly that sophisticated or a part I'll be throwing around.
