EOI - Taronga Zoo Shoot?Hi Everyone... following Sir Tristram's amazing shots of the the tigers (which I now want to be able to do also) we were thinking of hitting the Zoo again.
Would anyone be interested in this? Satuday Sunday I think to get full use of the Zoo it would be a first thing in the morning start till the closing times... (comfy walking shoes) Cheers,
Trieu 30D and TWO L's
I'd definately be keen!

What about next Sunday 28/5? If so I'm up for it as I'll be in Sydney for the mini meet Saturday and then for a show Saturday night (final performance of Dusty)

I have the day off but my diary (Bel) is not here at the moment, will have to check in and see if we have anything on on the Sunday.

I've just recently been to the zoo, so I'm probably not up for it for a while (plus it is a pain to get out there from where I live!). Certainly not in the next few weeks anyway. About one organised event a weekend is about as much as I can handle right now, and I'm booked up for a couple of months
Minimeet this weekend, walkmeet next weekend......
Sundays are hopeless for me ( Kids Sport , Keeping the Social Director happy etc etc ). But maybe on Saturday if I can get permission note...
And this is where I met the leprechaun - He told me to burn things
Saturday is out for me.

Taronga Zoo is a big ripped off
Not a good place for outing or meeting. Everything selling in that area is triple cost of what you can buy outside. Birddog114

But many great photo opportunities Birdy Once in you don't have to buy anything - BYO sandwiches and bottled water...easy. Geoff

You can see and may capture many monkey, gorilla's faces on Sydney streets and tigers too! It's free!!!!!! Birddog114

Very true Birdy - but the better looking ones are on the inside of the zoo, behind bars Geoff

Wait for summer time and you'll spot lot of them along George Street at lunch time or on Miller Street North Sydney I can seat all day @ the cafe on Miller street and shoot with my 4 x 8Gb card full and still plenty of them around Birddog114

I just looked into the zoo friends caper also, after finding out that defence passes allow for $5 admission. zoo friends is $10 to join and around $70 a year. If you went to the zoo twice @$30 you are worse off, but 3 or more and you are in front. good for western plains zoo also. I figure that for photo ops, 3 times per year isnt out of the question. may be worth considering. Steve check out my image gallery @

Admission pass is another story, The inner section of food, cafe, lollies, cold drinks are the main things to pick pocket people. Birddog114

yep, the zoo is a rort, just like amusement parks, easter show etc.
take your own food for sure. BTW, did you get the email enquiry I made last night?? sTeve check out my image gallery @

I'm keen. The chance to see Trieu eaten by a giraffe is just too good to pass up.

have bicycle, will go to Critical Mass
If there's at least 12 of us and we book, we can get it for 24 for adults instead of 30.
Spend the remaining 6 on a bottle of... Powerade! Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Giraffe's aren't meat eaters are they? I would much rather be chucked in with the seals
I'll wait for a few more posts with suggestions of days and start putting together something more concrete. 12 ppl might be abit hard to muster up, but it would be well worth a try! Cheers,

So is this Sunday a no go?

I think our Stubbsy wants to meet the real monkeys + tigers on Sunday as he asked coz he never see them before Birddog114

This Sunday is not looking good for me but if there are definite numbers, then I will put something together.
For myself, I would have to plan ahead about 3 weeks, as from the looks of it there are a few meets ahead of us. How about June 10th (Saturday) Cheers,

Sunday is now out for me too. 10th of June is bad though - that's the Queen's Birthday long weekend and I'm off to Mudgee to taste wine & take photos. Peter

Well, if anyone wants to go randomly, I'm still good for it, even if I might be drunk from the night before.
There's also an Overclockers Australia Photography meet that afternoon around 4.30 at Milsons Point which I'm thinking of going to so we can always bounce between them essentially. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Ahh... bugger it then.
I can't go Saturdaty and I might be too drunk for an early Sunday... hell... I know I won't be up. We'll do it eith everyone further on down the track... Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au
