Yay and not yay - published again! One of my mountain bike race pics has been published again, this time by [R]evolution magazine. It's on page 20.
That's the yay bit over. Now comes the sour point. I was told that I would be paid for the photo and sent a copy of the magazine. To date I still haven't received any word on payment or the magazine. I'm not fussed about the magazine but a bit annoyed that people don't deliver what they promise. Anybody have any ideas on how to approach this issue with the contact? I don't want to go in hard and burn all my bridges at once..well my bridge Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

that sucks mate. Which photo got in?
Hard to know what to do - if this could be a good outlet for you then perhaps tread softly but set some ground rules for next time? Steve (Nikon D200/D700)

i sent some pics to a 4wd magazine and then saw them in the magazine and then sent an email to the editor stating i saw my pics in your magazine and i thought they looked good, i then recieved an email asking for my bank details and they deposited the money into my account, i wasn't expecting or asking for any money but they sent it anyway ! so maybe my email jogged their memory cheers rob
A courteous email asking how long after publication contributors get paid and an offer to supply your bank details should do the trick.
Asking for fair payment shouldn't been seen as being rude or burning bridges - its just business. Nikon D70s, Nikkor 18-70, Sigma 70-300DG APO

Pirostitch,
I would ring and ask to speak to editor of mag. Rather than go in with guns blazing, just say that you haven't received payment and complimentary mags and that you were wondering when they will arrive. Hope this helps Cheers Michael
it was the august edition of overlander 2005, i noticed it at the airport when we were in sydney for the anniversary weekend
cheers rob
Thanks Rob. BTW, your 10.5FE is in the shipment today from HKG. Birddog114

Another toy for his collection. Piro sometimes these things can take time so i am not sure who runs that mag, took me a month ot 2 to get my payment from ACP Magazines. I have only just had the Italy mag mob pay for shots from last years Moto GP and Getty's should be soon as fellow in charge been away overseas, but i am not too worried about that.
But a friendly reminder would be ok. D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X
