Backing up image optionsHi All,
I have not posted for a very, very, very long time... Rick has been prompting me to but I just don't seem to have any time for anything anymore (kids!!!). I should have been as this forum is always such a great source of info. Anyway I have a question that I can't seem to find a decent answer for. I currently have two 200gig HD's and am using them to store and backup my image, music and video files. Basically I use one purely as "storage" (external, turned off unless backing up) and one as my main "media" drive which is an internal drive. My problem is I can't seem to work out the easiest way to make sure both drives are synched. If I work on an image on my "media" drive (say I make a few different versions of the same image) I then want to be able to make sure that all the new files are backed up on my "storage" drive. At the moment I just manually copy and paste them to the "storage" drive, there has to be an easier way or application I can use. Any advise on synching 2 drives together would be much appreciated. Cheers, W00DY PS: I also burn my images to DVD. Andrew

My answer would be a utility called "beyond compare". Have a look and trial it.
And this is where I met the leprechaun - He told me to burn things
Woody,
You could try the MS Sync Tool. It might do what you want. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0fc1154-c975-4814-9649-cce41af06eb7&DisplayLang=en I have downloaded / installed this tool months ago, but never used it for more than 10 seconds. Cheers Warwick

That was easy.... I downloaded the trial version and just synced the two drives, didn't take long at all. Very easy. Thanks. Wocka - I will also try the free MS one since beyond compare is not free. Cheers. Andrew
