666Only THREE sleeps left.........BEWARE
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Note that according to verse 17, there are three different characteristics that distinguish the beast: his mark (of authority) his name the number of his name (666). 'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.
And of course.....668
The Neighbour of the Beast. Yea and verily he doth place his wheelie bin by the Bin of the Beast, lest their garbage not be collected. And then it came to pass that the Beast and the Neighbour of the Beast had not separated their recyclables in the manner required by the supreme being as declared in Local Council Bylaw 14:15 whereupon it spake, "Thou shalt place thine wine bottles and oldeth newspapers apart from thine empty cat food tins", and at 14:18, subsection (b) "For let not thine garbage and thine recycs be mixed for there will follow a terrible lightning and storm and fine and stuff and yee shall be smited and really pissed off" and so it was that the garbologist and the Beast and the Neighbour of the Beast did live again in Harmony and Love and Other Good Shit like that. Hah! OBVIOUSLY you haven't watched The Omen, which is one of the finest documentaries I've ever watched.
In it, Damien Thorn's birthday is 06/06/66. Which is strictly not really 3 sixes, but I reckon the extra six gave him a bit more mojo. Hmm. I wonder what they are doing with the dates in the Omen remake that's being launched on 06/06/06 (correct format whether you're from the US or not )
Re: 666
I figure that I must have the mark of the beast because I've been doing a heap of buying lately (not too much selling). Maybe there is a link between lens lust and the devil.......I had better buy myself a new lens on 6/6/6..... 'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.
Greg, please tell me you didn't just make that up.....if so then I am VERY impressed. Stuart 'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.
This is actually a double event. 06/6/06 at 06/6/06 hours
First let me say, forget everything you heard about the numbers, six, six, six. The reason is that if the verse in the bible is to be understood in a literal sense, then the number can only be malevolent if they are placed upon the right hand or on the forehead. The numbers themselves are not bad or unlucky. If the numbers are placed, for example, upon the left hand or the shoulder, then even the bible says they are no longer considered a bad sign. In fact, the exact opposite is true, as the number 666 is considered mystical and holy. The number 6 not only represents the six directions (up, down, north, south, east, and west) and the six names of God in Hebrew, it is also considered God's number, because He created the world in 6 days. Additionally, 666 is the numerical value of the Hebrew prayer: "Ata yigdal na koach Ado-nai" or "Now, let the power of my Lord grow." This was Moses' prayer invoking the power of God. (Hebrew is the language of the Ten Commandments and the Arc of the Covenant, two of the religion's holiest icons.) Additionally, it is the numeric value of Vav, the sixth letter of many Semitic alphabets, including Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew, Syrian and Arabic, and it too refers to creation. So yes, it is a powerful number. But no, it is not malevolent. Just the opposite is true as you can see. It is the number of God. It is the number of protection and creation. Chris

Have to agree with Macka here Greg - this is GOLD. "And there was much gnashing of teeth, beating of breasts and crushing of recyclables for the Lord doth say unto the heathen throng - The Angels of the Tip are out on strike. Dust to dust and ashes to ashes will have to wait 'til Thursday at the earliest." Sorry - off topic.... Simon

Do you guys know who Steve Vai is? Well he is my idol and he was born on the 6th June 1960.

No. He's just a very good guitarist. There are very few to whom the word virtuoso deserves to be applied. Steve is good, but not there. g.

I think this is more of a subjective thing though. You can probably say he's a virtuoso in rock guitar. I have encountered a few Jazz/fusion purist that questions some of the rock/blues guitarist's abilities. BTW, whatever it means, Steve is a doctor at Boston's Berklee school of music. I do think Al Di Meola is a virtuoso, same goes for Tommy Emmanuel. Although I think Nicolo Paganini is the virtuoso of the stringed instrument. Blog: http://grevgrev.blogspot.com
