Brisbane Airport Dawn

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

BlacknStormy berated me recently for being slack and not taking enough photos. Rightfully so, too! She gave me a two day deadline, despite my protests that I didn't have time to get out. Fat lot of good that did.
So... if you have to be at work, you may as well look for some photographic opportunities.

6.30am this morning at Brisbane International Terminal. It can actually be quite pretty sometimes. Hope you like it Rel!

C&C welcome.

Nice reflection Simon. I would be tempted to crop it at the height of the foreground shrub.

Simon,

Do you have to remind me of work, even on the forum? :!: :x

Seriously, though, you have captured the morning light well. Only thing I might have done is to try and crop/clone the branches out (bottom, right), but that's easier said than done.

Good to see Narelle cracking that whip

A plane taking off or coming in to land caught in the reflection would make a great promotional image for the airport.

6.30 of the am :cough: Wow Simon I still had another 3 hours before I rocked out of bed. But, in saying that, if I could get as nice a pic as this then it might be worthwhile getting up early 8)

Yes, a plane in action is missing from that, but lovely reflections :D

I like it and it shows that if you look, you can usually find a picture to take.

Thanks all.

I deliberately wanted to leave this one pretty well untouched (trying to get back to basics: exposure and composition). I know the trees add a lot of dead space but I think they also give scale to the building.

I would have loved to have included the silhouette of an arriving or departing aircraft but I only had a minute or two to grab the shot and get back to work. The runway is also quite a way away (to the left of frame) so any aircraft would have just looked like a dust bunny from this angle.

I really appreciate the comments though.
