D2X+28-70For the first time today I walked around with this combo for around 3 hours. I was surprised at how well it all goes together and did not feel heavy. It is actually very well balanced. Did not have anyone telling me "I got one too", but got a few Japanese smiling in approbation, and a couple of"Geez... That's a big lens". In other words it does not go unnoticed .
Cheers, Gerard
Good to hear, Gerard.
Post some pix! TFF (Trevor)

I would think this could be one of the best combo's as a "walk around".....I don't have the lens but feel it a great size and magnification...especially for general walkaround use
Now Gerard you are obligated to share some of your shots with us
Here is a 100% crop. It was taken at ISO200, 1/45 at f/8 at 70mm.
You can guess I have been shooting"ducks" all day . I'll try and find some that are not too bad. Gerard Last edited by glamy on Sun Jun 11, 2006 6:15 pm, edited 1 time in total.
was this from one of the plylons? Haven't been in there as yet, always suspected some good views from there.
The detail is definitely there...sure you have had an eye opening experience with file sizes and downsizing for the "web"
Yes that is from the top of the southern pylon. The view is good, but it was raining. File size is OK. I used to open the D70 files in ACR at the 12mp size and reduce them for the web . As you say detail sure is there, that is one of the biggest differences with the D70.
Gerard
I wonder what people would think if a non anglo-saxon-celtic looking fella held a D2x with the 1200-1700mm and point it at them... Blog: http://grevgrev.blogspot.com
