Thanks guys. :D The journalist chose the shot. It was a bit of a weird one because it caught another flash, but it's quite dramatic and so on I guess.

Yes! My plan worked! Now I just have to perfect pressing the shutter to coincide with everyone else during that 1/500sec.

Congratulations Macka. You are right to be proud of this. It's great recognition for the time & effort you put into this.

Did they pay you?

Thanks, Stubbsy.

This one was just a bit of an ad for our website, no payment as such. Mainly due to my complete unpreparedness for the phone call and failure to negotiate otherwise. But we have made a bit of dosh from the photos elsewhere - they are going off to various websites and will appear in a few publications, plus a few prints have been sold (and I've learnt my lesson now).

Congratulations Kris - well deserved. It's a great shot, opportune lighting situation or not. Isn't that split-second, never-to-be-repeated moment what top images are made of?

I'm sure there'll be many more.

It's funny, I briefly thought about deleting that shot after I took it because I caught someone else's flash :)

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone :D
