Sigh. And of course I'm in Brisbane for work, and will have to front up at the office tomorrow.

Sadly, just not good enough. Maroons too tough and intense, and NSW making way too many basic errors. Can't give away that much possession and expect to win at the opposition's home ground.

They might be bloody Queenslanders, but even I have to admit they have a ton of G&D.

Bad week for my club and state sides. Luckily Australia has given me something to smile about in football and rugby.

Last night I made a post showing the score in emoticons.
I have just discovered that someone removed my post.
I'd like to know why my post was removed and what I did to deserve this.

Thanks Big Pix

I'm really annoyed that someone deleted my post for no good reason. It would have to be either admin or a moderator.

There was nothing in my post that was offensive or demeaning and whilst some may see the deletion as being a trivial matter, I don't because the deletion of my post amounts to someolone actively denying a member the right to participate fully in forum discussions and matters.

Again, I'd like the person who took it upon themselves and made the high and mighty decision to delete my post to explain to me why my post was deleted.

For the record here is the post again

What is so wrong posting emoticons that represent the score?

Bah and humbug to the person who deleted the post

Graham, your post wasn't deleted at all, the thread was simply locked because it was a duplicate (I'm not a mod, but I might have done it myself simply because I get all sooky and petty after losing at footy ;) )

Have a look, the post is still there in the other thread.

Last night Bernie created TWO threads. This one you are reading now and THIS ONE with an almost identical title. Your "deleted post" is in the other thread. The thread was locked by me and I'm sure if you look you'll agree it made sense to lock the thread. I would share your horror and annoyance if anyone was to delete a post of this nature and would be surprised and disappointed were anyone who has the responsibility of moderating things here to do such a thing.

And for the record I am NOT into sport regardless of the shape of the ball, but you Queenslanders are quite right to be proud you beat us Southerners

Please check your facts before going off on a rant like this. You have no reason at all to be annoyed, except perhaps with yourself for failing to check the facts. :)

1: Yes, it was a mod. Stubbsy, in fact.

2: The post was not deleted.

3: As Bernie correctly pointed out, the thread was closed, nothing was deleted. Your post remains visible.

4: I just found it by simply looking. Not even using the search function. Try here.

5: Stubbsy quite clearly stated why he was closing the thread. His action was 100% correct.

I'll refrain from suggesting that your duplicate post (in this thread) should be deleted. :) :)

Oops - so that's what you meant by 'duplicate thread"
Fair enough Bernie - the excitement of winning is enough to make anyone create a duplicate thread.
I do feel embarrassed now not realising there was a dupe thread  It didn't show up on my screen this morning, or maybe it did but the duplicate thread was higher and I didn't see the lower 'old' thread.
May I also apologise for getting somewhat 'hoighty toity' about thinking that someone had wontedly deleted last night's post.
I'll go away and hide under a desk for a while until it is safe to emerge.
Thank you to all for the explanation though.
Everything is cool now.
Cheers

Graham,

No worries. We know that a win for Queensland is so rare an occurrence that you all just get so excited .... :)

Yes - probably was top of the class following the Gary Stark Institute of DLSR Moderators exam in the subject of "thread locking"

I just have to study the art of dupe thread detecting @lol

Cheers
