i went out last night to the premiere of the rice and the ridiculous 3 to do some photos, i realised the metering had gone haywire so i had to shoot everything in manual:(

after taking a look at it i can't use 3d matrix metering any more but spot metering is ok. anyone had this problem before?

Sounds like the pre-cursor to BGLOD to me.

Definitely the right age for BGLOD, I think a trip to your local Nikon agent might be on the cards in the near future.

G'day mate,

There's some info about the bglod issue here: http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/ni ... aqid=13688

Also, I've just splurged on another body so if you're stuck and need another D70 body, just yell out, you're more than welcome to borrow etc...

My metering stuffed up last year. Sounds like the same problem.

Should be fixed FOC.

Yeah, but these problems are actually warranted.

The first batches of D70's contained the dreaded BGLOD and his camera definetly sounds like it fits into that first batch.

Thanks for your offer Mudder, I really don't want your equipment to end up Wendelled as i wouldn't be able to replace it.
I had at look at that form for Bglod is says to mail to the usa. My camera isn't showing signs of Bglod they wouldn't repair it right?

really even after expired warranty?

Maxwell or whomever handles distribution in your state, provided you bought it from Australia, should handle the BGLOD repair even after your warranty has expired.
