Where to buy white eggs?Does anyone know where I can find white eggs??
I've been to Woolworths, Franklins, Aldi, and a few fruit shops but they only have the brown colour eggs. And I want them for challenge 10 in case you're wondering.
Try a produce shop that sells point of lay chooks.
Most of the commercial eggs are coloured because of all of the nasties that they get fed. We have chooks as do our neighbours and the eggs that we get from our true free rangers are pearly white. Steve

I was waiting for this thread, Steve's right depending on the chooks diet the shells can vary in colour a lot, while in Fiji we saw all shades, included the whitest eggs I've ever seen. Normal supermarkets don't seem to get the white white eggs, if you do find a place please write back
Go to Asian supermarket, and you'll find few difference kind of duck eggs: Salted duck eggs, century duck eggs and they're white in colour. Birddog114

Thanks BD. I hadn't thought of the Asian supermarkets.
I've been thinking of just trying paint. Or just go the boiled egg, that'll be white! But, it'll be shiny too.

can't you just paint them white if not physically, virtually in photoshop or just shoot black and white for the comp
i don't think you have to be so literal in interpreting the rules
Wendell, only global Photoshop actions are allowed.
This means no individual Photoshop jobs aside for dust bunnies, no layering, etc. This is about taking a picture, not about who's got the mad skills in Photoshop. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

My suggestion. Go to a Uni Campus and yell out at the top of your voice " I LOVE JOHN HOWARDS REFUGEE POLICIES" and you should get one or two white eggs in no time flat....
And this is where I met the leprechaun - He told me to burn things
Thinks that this injection of racism into the challenge is a psycological ploy to put others off their game.
I too felt rather silly in Woolies while opening carton after carton of eggs looking for the perfect size, shape, colour and texture of said subject. "Your a Goose", I said to myself . . . - in a flash of inspiration!! But seriously, now with image 1 bagged, I scan the challenge site and find NO images posted YET - but 28 hits. I was hoping to get some tips on how to complete a complying entry, what with the EXIF attachment requirements and stuff, not to mention what size to make the entry, or if a frame is frowned upon or not. There isn't a first time "Submission for Dummies" thread somewhere is there?? D300, D200, (D70 - now with daughter) and heaps of Nikon stuff.

Quick response:
*Get your image, blank it out and submit it to the test gallery (Log in and check the main site) Once you have followed the instructions in the gallery open thread (in the shooting ideas section) click on "Photo properties" to check the EXIF FRAMES: Frames are neither welcomed or discouraged... HOWEVER: frames must be simple and uniform and not use or alter the image.. For example a "glass effect" that refracts the image would not be valid However a simple white then black border is fine... A few pixel wide black border is applied to thumbnails... Look at past comps... The MOST IMPORTANT THING is to HIDE YOUR ENTRY... (and submit early if unsure) As long as you do that I can help you fix any mistakes later without you blowing your chances by, for example, identifying your entry to others... Go out and get a winning image first, wory about submission later, it really is very easy! New page

Once posted you hide the pic so if you look at the challenge site now you will not see any pics, even if there are some posted already:roll: Chris
