I am using dslruser.com and experiencing lots of slow browsing. I think Alpha mentioned this problem last time and gary was looking into it.

Yep - there has been a query lodged with dreamhost. Gary is aware of the problem and is doing all he can at the moment. Your patience and understanding is appreciated peoples. Cheers.

The problems Phillip had were different from the general issues that we seem to be experiencing.

There was a hardware failure at the hosts yesterday, and we seemed to be affected by that, but that was cleared up over 24 hours ago. That problem was directly related to the MySQL server, and my feeling is that we're still (or again) seeing issues that are related to the database.

I've logged further support requests, and hopefully we'll know more shortly.

John,

Exactly.

Raskill, Loz - still slow for you this morning? If so, could you please run a tracert and send me that as a PM?

I'm seeing good speeds this morning; no issues at all from here.

That said, no response as yet from DH about the continued issues.

Loz, if it's post I'm thinking of, yes, we relocated that to the suspended threeads area because it was simply not relevant for any sort of discussion on a photographic forum. It wasn't so much controversial but simply a matter of "why here?"

No, thankfully, but last night I couldn't even get either page to load. I found it easier to blame optusnet and go to bed.

Working fine now though!

Ok, good.

Interestingly, Optus are suffering a bandwidth problem at the moment that's adversely affecting some of their NSW customer base, and Exetel have temporarily turned off P2P for their customers until the Optus bandwidth situation is alleviated.

This started on Monday last, and might continue for another week or so, although there's a possible fix from today.

I believe that other Optus wholesale customers may be similarly affected, but I'm not privvy to how those ISPs are addressing it from their end.

Rel,

nothing special, believe me
