What is this Birdy?Hi All, Well this big dummy is not used to looking at all these birds of the feathered kind so i know it is a Crane od some sort, does it have a proper name?

According to "Wildlife of greater Brisbane", the bird is a White Faced Heron also known as a blue crane. The book says it is a very common bird whose habitat is Australia wide and also (gasp) in New Zealand and islands.
For Greg B the scientific name of this bird is Egretta novaehollandiae Hope this helps John Cheers Graham
Thanks Graham, Like i said not up with all this nature pics just seen it took a pic and yeh, sort of a pretty crane i think as i have seen white ones but yeh ths blueish colour looks nicer. Just couldn't put a name to it.
