How to avoid DNQ in R2

Postby MHD on Thu Jul 06, 2006 8:45 am

Disqualifications in R1 caused some contention, and rightly so. It is the first time we have done this, an this is due to the very carefully defined theme. I would like to thank the users who got a DNQ for thier understanding and sportsmanship (Or challengemanship... but that does not sound quite right).

In light of the DNQs for round 2 we are going to make it easy with these two points on how to avoid the DNQ:

*Step 1: read the theme Carefully and adhere to it.... Especially any thing that says Must or will have etc...

*Step 2: You can request that I present your entry to the mods for a "Spot ruling" on if the image fits into the theme. This means your image (but not your identity, it is given out to NO ONE until the close of voting) will be displayed to the mods and you will either get a rejection or an assurance. If you wish this to happen you must submit the image to the gallery and PM me NO LATER THAN 3 DAYS BEFORE THE GALLERY CLOSES

And make sure you leave enough time to reshoot if the descision comes into the negative

Once again, I can see the panel of Mods put lot of their own times in this challenge to make all the entries complied with.

All,
Pls give the thumb up for all their works and accept the rules as said.

Finally, thanks again once to all the Mods.

Sounds like a very fair system to me.

I am very annoyed that my entry was left out ... due to my own stupidity though

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

I agree with Birddog. The moderators and admins do so much for this forum and have once again stepped up and given of their time to help us all. Well done guys.
