I've been wondering if we should do another night meet. It seemed to work well last time, and I've got a new tripod I want to give a work out. :D

Hi Daniel
Yes i would be interested in a night meet
I havent taken too many night shots but as i said in my original post i have looked @ some of yours & fozzies night shots
I tried some night shots out here in the country looking back over the water towards the city but that was real long exposure shots into the minutes lol
learnt alot of those shots too
i enjoyed meeting everyone on ANZAC day & hope to go on the next one just need a bit of notice to give work. Being the only chef makes getting days off not too easy . But having said that easier this time of year than in summer

That was the first and only time I've done some night shots. The results were mixed but when they work they look great.

Long exposures can work really well. I was surprised by the interesting colours that appear from the darkness.

Didnt get to the zoo buisness took longer than i thought so we went down by the torrens & had our subwaylol
i had time to stop into Diamonds & buy a monopod thoughlol (no head as yet)
then walked from Jollys boathouse down past the Convention centre to the weir, back up to the bridge near the boat clubs up over the bridge & walked on the northern bank
By this time it was dark & well living in the country you dont realise there is so much activity arround that part of the river even after dark
While i was taking some shots of the city skyline from the northern bank we had about 20 swans come out of the water & surround us just quacking away lol
i learnt alot from this first night excusion a few shots worked out which i will post after a bit of pp

Daniel - So when do you want to do the next night shoot :?:

From memory our last one was on a Friday night, and the weather was cool and cloudy, plus very few people around to hassle us :)

A friday night sounds good.
It might be worth waiting until August as the sun sets a bit later. It probably depends by what time people can get there.
Here are the sunset times:
21/7 5:26pm
28/7 5:31pm
04/8 5:36pm
11/8 5:41pm
18/8 5:46pm
25/8 5:51pm

The Islington workshops sounds really good. I wonder when we would be allowed in?
