Expodisc, the definitive test - NOT!Sorry guys, I stuffed it up.
Here's what I did: I took incident light readings with the two types of Expodisc (warm and neutral) Birdy gave me. I used those readings to store custom white balance settings in my D2H. I then took shots of Ozimax using those presets. In those shots, Ozimax was holding a Kodak grey card as well as the WhiBal targets. The expected result was close to ideal grey RGB readings on the grey card and WhiBal target with the neutral ED calibration, and slightly warmer values with the warm ED. Here's what I did wrong: I stored the Expodisc readings in the custom WB locations d1 and d2, expecting to use those stored presets later on. What I didn't realise at the time was that when you take a WB calibration reading, the stupid D2H *always* stores it in location d0, no matter whether you select a different location... I had some very wam candle light balances stored in d1 and d2, and took the shots that were meant to reveal the truth about ED with those I guess we have to repeat the experiment at a later time. For now, all I can say is - sorry, should have read the bloody manual before. Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
Steffen,
I can loan you those EDs and redo the test. Birddog114

Much appreciated guys, I'd really love to get to the bottom of this.
Maybe, with a little more time I can test more thoroughly, testing under different types of lighting, or even including Pringles lids and coffee filters... Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
The expo disc is fantastic.
I use it nearly all the time now and WB corrections are a thing of the past!! Termy,

I agree with terminator. Expensive little suckers but they work as promised.
And this is where I met the leprechaun - He told me to burn things
As said few times before, I have and used them both versions.
If people have some changes, buy it! If not, walk or take public transport to work, quit smoking, only buy premium cleanskin wine and you'll save heaps for the lot. Birddog114
