OK ... the latest and greatest.

Important change: the minimeet scheduled for the morning of Saturday August 5 has been changed. Instead of holding this at Thanh's it is now being held at ...

The Haven Amphitheatre in Castlecrag. This is an historic venue, designed by Walter Burley Griffin, in a suburb that was designed by Griffin, and where there remains a large number of Griffin houses.

The start time has been bumped to 10am, running until 1pm. We have backstage access (for coffee etc), there's a walk down to the water from the theatre, and there's another Castlecrag walk that takes in many of the Griffin houses in the area. If you're interested in any of this, or just in looking at the beautiful bushland suburb that's Castlecrag - just 5 minutes from the centre of downtown Sydney - this will be for you.

We will wrap up in time for all to make their own lunch arrangements, although I expect that many might want to wander to a local eatery.

I'll be emailing all of those registered for this event to keep them appraised of the changes, but if you've not yet registered for this, now might be a good time to get involved.

The Sunday Brunch, for those who have expressed interest in this, will also be occurring, and I'll have more details on this within the next day or two.

2: Dinner on Saturday night, August 5, at Il Golosso 104 Ramsay St Haberfield. $30 per person and no corkage charge. Almost fully booked

3: Photoshop workshop - Saturday morning, August 5, 9 am.

4: Printer profiling workshop - Saturday morning, late, following photoshop workshop.

5: Minimeet, The Haven Amphitheatre, Castlecrag, Saturday morning, August 5, 10:00 am.

6: Sydney Harbour Ferry hop and photoshoot. Circular Quay, Saturday morning, August 5, 9 am.

7: Sunday Brunch, Sunday morning, August 6, 10 am.

Places for the various events are quite limited. Go here quickly to book your attendance at the various events.

In order to simplify matters for the dinners, payment in advance is required. Details of how to make your payments will be advised upon receipt of your booking.

Can I assume the new location for the minimeet means the 20 person cap has been lifted ? I orginally chose not to attend to allow space for new members or those travelling further afield to attend. If there will be plenty of space then Katie and I would like to come and meet everyone (and I'd therefore withdraw from the Ferry ride).

It's actually Katie driving this decision, she's letting my out for the weekend (and coming to Saturday dinner) and liked the sound of Castlecrag (she's not a boat person really). So nothing against you Peter, I've enjoyed both outings on ferries with you, and if I could I go to both.

Castlecrag would actually be more convenient for us as we need to have the car with us, so would have had to find parking in the city prior to hopping on the ferries, then having to duck off early anyway. Like Craig, would love to go to both, but would love to have the opportunity to meet up with everyone coming in for the meet.

Sorry Peter, I feel like an arse even suggesting it, but my preference would be the minimeet, so long as there is plenty of space there. (But I'll be at Pt Stephens the weekend prior to that, so we're not trying to get away from y ou, honest!!)

Castlecrag is east of Chatswood. Private transport is the best way to get there.

Train to North Sydney, bus to Castlecrag. Couldn't be easier.

The only immediate confirmations that have been issued were for the dinner events, because they require the collection of funds and the remitting of funds to third parties.

Events such as the workshops for which you have booked carry no such burdens, and as I've mentioned to other people in this and an earlier thread, details will be forthcoming at the start of the week of the event, thus helping you to remember that it's on.

That's not an issue at all. Do you have the $799 per person that it will cost you to exit the venue after the workshop?

Just got home from the minimeet. OK it was wet and overcast. Not exactly great for a fair weather photographer like me.
I'm a newbie to DSLR photography and my aim for today was to find out a few more things about using my camera. Thanks to some very helpful advice from the other participants I picked up some hints to work on. Everyone was quite willing to share their knowledge.
Maybe I can even improve thanks to all the hints.
One of my next objectives is to get involved in a session on PP. I even got a few tips on that today as well.
So to any other newbies out there - don't be afraid to join in on any of these photo sessions to pick up some tips. I had a good time and am looking forward to my next opportunity to participate.
