Capture NX Question

Postby Greg B on Tue Jul 25, 2006 7:51 pm

Has anyone used Capture NX in tethered camera mode, to adjust camera settings etc.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it (it was straight forward in 4.4.0)

I think you have to buy Nikon Camera Control (I think that's what it was called) as a seperate program to control the camera.

I can't even get NX to work :(

God - you've got to buy everything seperate these days! At least with the previous version camera control was included! Can anyone confirm this version doesn't have the control bit with it?

Yep, just checked the WebSite, you need Camera Control Pro

For software that should be supplied with the camera, Nikon are hell bent on screwing the bejesus out of their customers who now need to buy not one, but two massively overpriced programs.

Not a definitive answer... but here is where I read about (and got the hint that) it's a seperate program

Yeah, you'd think they'd be able to afford to throw in those two pieces of software when you're shelling out $5-6K on a D2Xs or even a couple of grand on the D200.

I understand why (but don't agree with) the lower end cameras don't come with the software... but with the D2X/H etc there really isn't any excuse

All IMO of course

it's like selling a car that only drives in one gear unless you buy the 'special upgrade clutch'!
