Topic revisit - Printing digital image to canvas

Postby Geoff on Mon Jul 31, 2006 11:56 pm

Hi all,
I looked at a previous thread (from back in October 04) regarding printing images to canvas. A friend saw a print of mine (my avatar) recently and asked if I could get it printed (and enlarged) to canvas for her. I willingly agreed. I have sourced just a few places (http://www.bigprints.com.au and http://www.mymasterpiece.com.au and have decided to use (probably and unless someone suggests otherwise) one of these.

So, anyone know of a good mob that do print images to canvas? I look forward to your replies..

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

would love to know how big prints get a 100k file to print a metre wide and keep the detail.
100k and detail, not two terms you usually use in one sentence.

they must have some of the hollywood software you see in the movies.

Terrific! Thanks guys, will look into these options.

Glen - was hoping to go a bit bigger than that what the R1800 could offer.

Ive just placed the image in the image review section that I'm wanting to probably to turn into a bigger canvas.

Happy to report that the client was really happy with this shot :)

They say printing on canvas lasts 75years+ how long do other methods last. And yes I have noticed some of the pics I printed on inkjet that are 2+years old have faded. What other paper/inks are good and reliable??

this mob is expensive
http://www.brilliantprints.com.au/
but the best thing is quality is good and you pay after you get the thing

more so than 'on demand' in chatswood
but on demand only deal with big commercial orders

my boss forced me to print one of my large artworks on canvas for hte office boardroom under budget so i did some investigating

Shop around on this one. You can get ripped off if you are not careful. What size print are thinking of?

Geoff,
We can print the file for you but the only canvas material we have in stock is a 24" roll.....what size (width) were you after.

Hi All
If anyone in Perth would like to have canvas prints of thier work have a look at Jak's.
I have never used them, I just saw a piece in the paper about them.
Jak's wrote:Jamie and Kristy Bekkers are the team behind Jak's Interior Art. Tired of not having a quality local company to print their own artworks onto canvas they decided to do it themselves. Their work is seen in the gallery and they also have works from special guest photographers.

Jak’s Interior Art specializes in printing photographs or original artworks onto Fine Art Studio Canvas. Whether it is your own digital photograph, or an artwork chosen from the Jak’s Gallery our fine art reproduction technique will leave you and your friends impressed.

We expertly print our images onto High Quality Fine Art Studio Canvas, which then has two coats of a Print Guard waterproofing spray. The spray leaves no ‘glossy look’ and greatly enhances UV light resistance to fading. The canvas is then hand stretched over thick 30mm solid wooden frames, finished with tape on the back to keep the dust out, professionally finished and sent to you ready to hang.

Buy one of our beautiful artworks for your home or office, or turn your own digital photograph into an original canvas artwork.
