counting your pictures

Is there some way of finding out how many pictures a D70 has taken (apart from counting the shots I have stored on the PC)?

I've noticed quite a few of you post how many thousand pictures you've taken, but I haven't got a clue how many I've done. There are a couple of hundred on the PC, along with maybe the same again that have been deleted but thats a very rough estimate.

Go on, tell me there is a more scentific way!

Once installed, view a jpeg image, scroll all the way to the bottom and I think it's the 4th to last entry, "Number of shutter actuations".

Is that a D70 feature beause it doesn't show up on my 10D images? I know that number of shutter actuations from the file name but it would be handy to check if you bought a 2nd hand camera.

Blimey, there's alot of info in the EXIF data isn't there!?

485 pictures to date, so I wasn't that far off.

Had a look at a picture from a friends D10 with Opanda IExif, not nearly as much info as with the Nikon, why is that?

It's a Canon.

Which means that they left out all the crap that you don't need.

Well I'm surprised the Opanda software doesn't show as much Canon EXIF stuff. None of Nikon's endorsed software reports shutter actuations for their camera bodies, and previously only their service centres had access to these kinds of info.
