Where is the Bargain Section?

Postby sji on Tue Aug 01, 2006 11:17 pm

Hi all,

This site used to have a section called "Bargain", where Birddog is the person did quite a lot to offer memeber discounted items.

Can anyone tell where is it now or it will only limited to view by members who had contributed certain number of posts.

Many thanks!

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

Correct, for the time being the bargain section has taken some time out. But keep faith, things are happening and once again bargains will play a part in this awesome forum :)

For now, sit back and enjoy what we're here for - photography, each other's company and a bit of fun here and there...

There has been somewhat of a difference of opinions, none of which need to be addressed here again. Just know that for now, things have been put on hold. Watch this space and enjoy what the forum has to offer.

I will not hesitate to lock this thread if any kind of flame war is started, I trust you understand and appreciate your co operation in advance. :)

Loz, I had a very, very long chat with Birddog today who specifically said he was going to post himself on the weekend and asked very clearly that no one post on his behalf. I assume Birddog did not ask you to post on his behalf?

Simon, Birddy clearly stated he wanted to post for himself and stated he will this weekend at the time of the awarding of the prizes, which Birddy, myself, Leigh and Gary donated. Out of respect for what Birddy has and is doing for this forum, we wish to honour his request, as asked.

That is clearly a question, a flame war is where one party denigrates another, which as you are aware we don't tolerate here.

A couple of points, if I may.

Nobody has said that the bargains section has gone for good. Nobody in a position of authoritywithin this forum, at any rate.

That said, I'm really not overly concerned about bargains, and if that's the reason that you think that this forum exists, you should probably review what you're here. Last time I looked, this forum is about digital photography: and all aspects of it too. The bargains section was but a small part of what we are

sji: regardless, I note that you were the OP in this thread, and that you have a very low post count. Regardless of whether or not we have a bargains section, the point in your case is moot, because you're simply not yet eligible.

Loz. please note carefully what Glen has said. Thanh is still a member here, and nobody has placed any restriction on his activities here. Thanh has decided that he will be reducing his presence here, and I think we should accept and respect that decision.

There needs to be peace, happiness and harmony. And there is. Any queries, as Glen suggested, probably best PMing Birdy and await a response.

Now - go take a look at my DNA staircase image and critique the hell out of it !

John, that is why I am clearly not and in keeping with his request that others don't post or speculate on his behalf.

John,

Glen stated that Thanh has made a clear indication to him that he will make a post on Saturday. If there is something about this that you feel is incorrect or misleading, then the correct approach is for you to take it up directly with Glen (or another mod or admin) in private.

Please retire yourself from this sort of approach.

Thread locked. There is all the info needed here. The rest would just be unnecessary repetition
