Yippeee! Proud D200 owner!Just a quickie to let you all know you won't hear any more whinging from me about not having my D200 yet! I hate mornings but this morning was transfromed into a bloody good one when there was a knock at the door!
I sat in bed for an hour playing with the D200 - had my spare battery charged and ready to go and by the time I'd done everything i could without attaching the MB-D200 my new battery was charged so i got to play with that too! I'm stoked (hate the word but I'm going to use it anyway!). This is a lightning quick camera..I'm used to waiting a couple of seconds to chimp on the 1Ds and don't even think about zooming in to 100%!! This thing blows it outta the water!
awesome stuff liam congrats on the new toy.

www.colberne.com.au I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"
Rel,
That was truly below the belt! g.

What's wrong with 180mm? I'm getting good results with my 85mm... Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
Yes, I'm finally a member of the D200 club too.
If only you could get the damn thing going on the Nickel Metal Hydrides in the Battery Grip. Wouldn't fire up to let me change it from Alkalines... Would like to be able to find out how to change the damn selector button to cycle through images in the same direction my D70 does... People put way too much rubbish in signature blocks.
Congratulations Liam, and whiz too.

Since you were all begging! First shot follows..
whiz - congrats! you can change the way the selector button works in one of the menu's somewhere! I remember seeing it this morning (in bed ) and thinking 'should i change it, or should i force myself to learn the new method?'! I'm forcing myself to adapt, i like the new method to be honest. As for you other guys (and girls Rel!!) I was thinking more about using a fisheye to fit it all in..plus that would have the bonus feature of correcting the serious distortion of it
Liam,
I' like you, waited nearly 7 months by the time I had a D200. And let me tell you, its pure bliss all the way. This is one brilliant piece of equipment. Glad you finally have your hands on one Cheers Michael
Yes, I know. The problem is that if you've charged up NiMH's to put in the MB-D200, so that you can use it immediately it turns up, the camera won't give you the option of getting into the menu's to change it. Being set at Alkalines, it expects 6 x 1.5v = 9v. It is getting 6 x 1.2v or 7.2v so it instantly thinks that it's flat and won't fire up. Had to take the barely charged battery out of the charger, slap it in the MB-D200 fire up the camera and change it to NiMH' AA's. Then it was all good for the next hour of menu scrolling.
