4Gb CF $103!

Postby sirhc55 on Wed Aug 02, 2006 5:14 pm

I am known to take risks so I purchased a 4Gb OEM (no labels) Samsung CF card from HK. It took six days to arrive - popped into camera, formatted and away it went.

Total cost inc postage $112.00 - not bad for 4Gb  :D

Any idea of the speed of the card?

That's mighty cheap!! (Considering I paid $280 not very long ago!!)

Trevor!

Actually, Chris, how does the D2H handle it? That would be a good way to assess performance

This was an eBay purchase from Flashman852 out of HK.

He has 111,500 feedback and over 900 negatives for the year!

But investigation showed that most negatives were from drongos either new to eBay or just plain idiots.

I never look at one price but search - for example CR123a rechargeable 3V (not 3.6V) batteries and charger from Tenergy in the US after an exhaustive search of both HK and OZ.

Sounds good Chris! One question, can you fill it with 4 GB of data? There are fake cards popping up on Ebay that seem to have high capacities when you format them through some firmware trickery, but when you actually try to fill them with data they come up short. :(
