Test my Website - Take Two

Postby Antsl on Mon Aug 07, 2006 3:19 am

Hi All,

Thanks to those people who offered feedback on the new website that I launched on Friday. I have made some adjustments and I'm hoping things work a bit better now on different platforms. Look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Cheers, Ants.

No left alignment situation on IE6 now :D The random images on the front gave me the same 3 images twice, I moved on when one came up a third

Hi Anthony,

looks great on Mac Safari. Found a few spelling mistakes (look in Writings section), but that's just a bit of nit-picking.

Great looking site. I didn't see the original version, but love this one,

cheers,

andre

Is it supposed to be centre aligned?

If so, then it only centre aligns in 1024x768 res. Anything larger and it hangs towards the left.

Hi Piro and all!

I originally had every page centre aligned using a behaviour called Studio VII, PVII Layout Designer 2 however it seemed a bit clunky. The pages would load and then eveything seemed to do the Timewarp (just a jump to the left!). Not too sure what to do but I am thinking I might just add a javascript to define the page a certain size and leave it at that.

I will ammend the front page so that the images are not so random... it will mean about 9 images scroll through and then repeat. The advantage with the small program I used to make that happen is that the images can be swapped out of the loop easily without having to rewrite a Flash script.

Thanks for noting the spelling errors! Will get to them soon (no automatic spell check in Dreamweaver!).

Thanks for the feedback all... I have built the site myself and so it has been the usual long learning curve!

Cheers, Ants

Max - it's at the bottom of Ants' post: http://www.anthonymckee.com

Anthony - great site - I must admit that I don't like the changing shots on the opening page either = just a personal thing. And again a personal thing, I would like to see the profile tab on all the pages - not only accessible from the contact page.

Other than that, very very professional :)

Ants, your site is what a website should be, simplicity itself. I like simple design, less is more and all that. It was plain enjoyable looking at the images on an uncluttered website. The photos are also wonderful, as always, but that's not the object of this thread. Congrats.

I give you 9/10.
