Help! Raw filesHey Everyone, I just had the pleasure of a test drive of a PSD device here in Singapore I'm heading back in the morning to put it through it's paces and I only have d70 NEFs at my disposal, if anyone can help me out by sharing 1 or 2 D200 , D2X or even Canon raw files I'd appreciate it so I can put them on my CF card and test it throughly in the unit tomorrow morning. I don't care what the shot is of, as long as it has some detail in it.
Thanks !
Hi Craig
You do not need a different camera raw to test PSD , just rename ( extension ) a few to xxxx.NEF (nikon ) or xxxx.CR2 Canon or xxxx.RAF (Fuji), copy all to the CF and test the PSD. The PSD will copy what ever on CF card regardless of what type of files. Regards

Spada,
I think the issue is that he wants to test using different files to see how the unit displays them on its screen, and ths the workaround you're suggesting isn't going to help in that task. Also, a NEF file from a D200 has a different makeup from those in a D70, and the D2X will be slitghtly different again. Craig, you might also want to make a couple of images using a different in-camera colour space. That changes the file naming schema on the D70, as well as the colour space, and could ba a useful sidebar test for you. g.

I've also sent him a 1DsMk2 RAW so he can test with.

He didn't actually say as much, but he does mention that he'd like images with some detail, thus my presumption. g.

Compress it to make it smaller .... grab his email address
Or else put it somewhere off your webspace and give him a link from where he can download it. g.

An email?Have you thought using the search feature to find them and then email each one at a time? As possibly you already know, emails will not take an attachment bigger than 10MB so if your raw files are roughly the same as mine 7 - 9MB that could be a possibly way. But advise first the recipient so care could be taken to make room for the incoming file and download it promptly before it clogs the email In-box. Of course, if both of you have broadband it is relatively fast about 10 to 15 minutes per file, but if one you still use a dial-up connection - forget it.
Another way is to burn both files in a CD Rom and post it. I hope I have been of some help.
Thanks Everyone, in the end I tested it with Canon CR2 and D70, D200 files, its unlikely I'm going to have access to a D2x, or a D2h for that matter so I didn't mind no testing them, I'm so far very impressed with the unit, and hope to do a review when I've had a really good play with it.
