Difference between Sigma EX DC and DG lenses?

Just looking at these leses and contemplating and I notice the DC an DG tags. Does anyone know the difference? There appears to be very little difference between these three lenses (below) but the prices vary.

Any help appreciated.

DG = 35mm and digital

i think they were the ones before the DG came out

From Sigma's website:

EX (EX Lens)
The exterior of this lens is EX-finished to denote the superior build and optical quality, and to enhance its appearance.

DG (DG Lens)
These are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral illumination, they are ideal lenses for Digital SLR Cameras whilst retaining suitability for traditional 35mm SLRs.

DC (DC Lens)
These are special lenses designed so that the image circle matches the smaller size of the image sensor of most digital SLR cameras. Their specialized design gives these lenses the ideal properties for digital cameras, the compact and lightweight construction is an added bonus ! including compact and lightweight construction.

The DG lenses typically have anti-reflective coatings on the rear elements to reduce possible reflections from the sensor (shinier than film). Other manufacturers such as Canon use similar coatings in some lenses, but don't bother making it part of the model name.

Obviously DC lenses can't be used on "full-frame" cameras.

as i understand it DC lenses can't be used on cameras with a full frame sensor or film. DG refers to a special type of coating that is supposed to be offer better performance on digital cameras.

that covers the range and save up for a dedicated canon equivallent prime like the 85mm f1.2

How will the Sigma 28-70/2.8 be compared to the Nikon 28-70/2.8? Performance in wide open, colour/contrast and bokeh wise?
