Here's something that doesn't happen very often.

Well done to Maxwells for getting my D2H metering fault fixed in TWO DAYS, yes you read right, TWO DAYS!!!!

Amazing.

It could be that Maxwell recognise a ”pro” camera and therefore apply the ”pro” treatment

Nah, they just recognise a digger when they see one (or is that splasher, or what is it called with the boat people...?)

It's just a shame they can't do it for everybody. :(

It probably means that someone there has had enough time to figure out how the camera works, as it has been on the market for some time, and can therefore fix it.

That's great service Killakoala!

I dropped my D70 off to them yesterday and told them I needed it back for a wedding next weekend so the girl marked it as urgent. . Hopefully I get it back next week and don't have to wait over a month like alot I've read about here.

Their free return courier service is good too considering they're only open mon-fri and it's hard for those such as myself who work full time to get there.

A work collegue dropped his D70 off there and got it back in a few days too.

So, this is the conclusion i have drawn.

Maxwells tells us that the camera will be about 4 weeks to repair. They then fix it within a much shorter time and we are happy with it not taking as long as first quoted and then we think Maxwells are great. The reality is that they can fix it within a week, most times anyway.

Conspiracy?
Steve.

Extraordinary.

I guess the advice now is if your camera is hurting, get it to Maxwells as the turnaround right now is great.
