Those nice to know things about your DSLR will be found here. How to do this, and why you probably should not do that.

uploading to pbase/smugmug

Postby Oz_Beachside on Sun Aug 27, 2006 10:03 pm

hi

can anyone help me to learn of an effecient way to upload 100 files?

I need to do two things, reduce their file size from say 2.7mb, to say 300kb, and then upload to PBASE.

1. Is thier a way I can reduce images sizes on mass, say using Photoshop?

2. Can I then upload a list of files, or must I wait for each files to load in pbase?

thanks

1. Easy resize - I always use Irfanview 'batch process'. You can automatically resize and save with diff quality - e.g. 85% qual and 35% or 50% of original size will give you good images around 150-250k.

2. Pbase is pretty helpful - if you add all the files to a .zip, then you can upload the zip file and then it automatically uncompresses to your chosen gallery.

Probably a bit late Oz, but if you use Nikon View it has a resize option too.
