OK, now they're suggesting they aren't entirely sure - they are going by "reports they have received".

Confirmation seems to be (so far) his car involved in fatal accident in a special stage. No suggestion that it was a spectator, so that leaves the driver (Brock) and his co-driver. They are talking as though it's confirmed though, so who knows?

I am, officially, devastated.

There can be no doubting Brockie's skill behind the wheel.

He will be sadly missed by the whole motorsports community.

Trevor, Sunday we have Monza ... and Schumie is expected to announce his retirement at the end of this season afte the race.

Monday is 9/11 ...

Dangerous activities taking a toll. Very sad week.

I can't believe another great Aussie icon has died....and in the same week.

Terrible news. Although I am a Ford person, Brocky will always be 'King of The Mountain'. What a legend, what a sad day for motorsport. :(

...at least he also died doing what he loved most.

It's a shame that this has happened but thats sport for you and you just never know. I will now look forward to the Brock tribute which i am sure they will do of such a legend, at least he died like Steve doing something they have a passion for. He will be missed, not only as a Holden fan i am but as a driver and i also miss others like Barry Sheen but we cant live forever.

Another Aussie legend bows out. I'm not a motorsport fan by any means, but it's still a sad day when something like this happens - moreso for those who were close to both Peter & his co driver.

I just hope that princess Naomi at TT doesn't head off to WA or somewhere wearing a Holden outfit like the distateful khaki with Lizard "reportage" from Australia Zoo earlier in the week

seems to be a lot of different reports slying around.

Just spoke to a friend who told me hes been told the accident was on the road going to the event and not actually during it.

its is third hand info, but every channel seems to have a different version.

Almost as bad as that dipstick from the today show reporting from out the front about how bad everyone feels and then in the same breath saying they have _exclusive_ interviews.
Rating always come before feeling in the reporter game, and theres not such thing as tasteless when it comes current affairs programs.

Truly devastating news this week. Brock was a man I, and I'm sure many others, looked up to. What is an appropriate way of showing respect to these recently departed Aussie icons? I feel like I want to pay tribute to them, but don't know how to go about doing it.

Perhaps she should consider wrestling crocodiles for a living because she passed it. She is just jealous because an ordinary person without so much study can be loved and cherished so much by Australians and the world. Yes guys it is a sad week for Australians to have lost Steve Irwin and Peter Brock. God bless them! By the way, that is a nice and fitting photograph for the man, Shaunus
