Troubleshooting colour space

Postby Mitchell on Sat Sep 16, 2006 6:41 pm

I know that colour space has been discussed often here, so I'm sorry to bring it up again... however

My camera is set to sRGB and PS CS2 is set to sRGB. However whenever I load a raw file into PS I am warned:
______________
This document has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space. The document's colors will be converted to the working space.
Embedded: Abode RGB (1998)
Working: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
______________

Any ideas why Adobe RGB is embedded when my camera is most definitely set to sRGB?

Thanks

Open a RAW file in CS2. Now look in the bottom left corner of the ACR window that pops up (the one with the colourful histogram in the top right)..

Click the little box that says "Show Workflow Options" and you may see that ACR is converting your images to Adobe RGB for you - simply change it to what you want and it won't bug you any longer!
