DPreview D80 full reviewChris
-------------------------------- I started my life with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left
Im amazed at the new built-in flash on the D80, reapeating flash, 2 banks/4channel wireless commander and downput level to 1/128th
Very impressive... anyone considering buying a d70s should put it off and get one of these IMHO... quite an improvement over an already quite capable DSLR...
MOst impressed by the viewfinder... imagine getting a bright pentaprism in one the the entry level models... makes me wonder if we will see a d40 sometime soon... New page

My only gripes are SD card vs CF card - for those who have a D70 or 200, and wanted to get the D80 as a second body, you need to know stock up on different form of storage. I guess there are some benefits from a protection perspective - and lack of pc synch port.
Otherwise, looks good P
I am looking at getting a new DSLR camera due to mine being stolen, was looking at replacing the D70s for another D70s but should I go for the newer D80?

Hey Scott I think it's all been said above - now it's just your budget - I think Suri has a D70s for sale on this forum and you can also get the D80 here as well...

I will be locked to where I can go due to the insurance payout! But will have to shop around for the best price so that "Harvey Norman!" can match/beat that price, I was also looking at getting a replacement for my 80-400mm VR lense too! Any recommendations? You may want to enquire with your insurance company. Some of them let you settle with cash. I know I did with a building insurance claim but I don't know if that's possible on theft or other policies. __________

Did it get stolen too? If so..... Yes. Get another one. I am very happy with my 80-400. If you still have it, why replace it? Greg - - - - D200 etc

i'd say go compare one side by side to the d70s.
personally i would go the d70s, if your going to spend the 600 extra bucks to get the d80 i'd go a smigen more and get the d200 Simon
www.colberne.com.au I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"
I've had mine for just about a month now and love it. I think it perfectly hits the mark between the D50 and D200. It'll be some time until I really utilize its full potential but then again.. I am new to SLR's
I got friends with both the D70 and D70s - both are quite happy, no surprise because the D70 is just awesome. Personally I doubt it'd make that much sense to upgrade D70 -> D80. There is a new model every year...
