Where to get Gitzo spare parts?

Postby Steffen on Mon Jun 19, 2006 11:26 pm

I've got a Benro C-227, which has popped two of the rubber rings surrounding the lock screws. Birdy hinted that Gitzo parts might work.

Assuming the equivalent Gitzo model is G1227, I found the part number on Gitzo's web site (D1630-2), but there is no way to order the parts from the site. Does anyone know a source (preferrably in AU) for Gitzo spare parts?

Cheers
Steffen.

Just curious, is there an issue getting parts or repairs for some/all Benro products?

If it purchased from me, then YES. What parts are you required?

Most of Benro parts are same as Gitzo, I had few replacement Gitzo parts put on Benro and purchased locally, save heaps on shipping & handling.

You can order parts direct from Adeal, but if not in stock, as is the case with my triopod (G2227), it takes 3 months to ship from Italy.

I tried Progear @ Chatswood first (they are the authorised Gitzo repairer) T 9882 1992 but they didnt have the parts.

Guy there told me Gitzo is owned by Manfrotto which I found interesting

I'd be interested too Steffen - please report back if you find any sources of spare parts for Benro ;) One of the rubber rings on my KB-1 head has split... I'm thinking of just using a contact adhesive, rubber glue etc to stick it back on.

Thanks guys, I called Adeal and they can order the part for me - takes 4 months. I reckon those rubber rings are imported from Mars...

I keep looking, maybe somwbody has got them in stock, otherwise I'll just have to wait

Cheers

I'm just considering tripod options at the moment. Hopefully I'll be looking to pick up a better tripod in a few months. I have to wait a bit since I recently found a D200 sitting all alone on a store shelf :) .

Benro does look a good option tho'.

!!!

I wanted to wait until I got home before finding out more details. Turns out, my fiancée brought it to her work (primary school) so they could film the annual concert. Looks like some dickhead has DRAGGED it across concrete, because a couple of the rubber feet have snapped off. Also, one of the rubber rings used for locking the leg segments in place is starting to split.

Bloody hell. Does anyone know what the equivalent Gitzo model is for the Benro C-128? I might have to start ringing around to see if I can find a few replacement parts.

Waited 3+ months for spare parts for my Gitzo from Adeal. Only source I could find who was able to supply.
No idea why it took so long
