50mm Prime Owners - Help Me

Postby spaz on Sat Sep 30, 2006 11:31 am

EDIT: I never really got the response I had hoped for so there has been a change of plans. Thanks to those who submitted images, have a look at the reply post below to see what's happening.

My original post:
I am currently developing a photography showcase website dedicated to the use of 50mm prime lenses. At this point in time I am looking for submissions to create a sufficient backlog to release one image per day. You will receive full credit and exposure for your work.

The temporary submission location is at:

http://www.50mmprime.com/

Please note: I received permission from Gary to post this so as not to be accused of spamming.

Interesting idea, hope it goes well. Will be interesting to see a 50mm on full frame versus an APS sensor. Good luck

Good luck with this. I think it's a great idea, and I look forward to seeing some great images.

I would like to submit this shot but your maximum size does not allow for portrait orientation (and you will find that a lot of 50mm shots will be portraits)

Thanks for the interest guys. Firsty, other people have mentioned this as well and I have decided to increase the height limit to accomodate for this. I am trying to limit the need for scrolling on smaller monitors.

Is it strictly restricted to 50 mm prime, or would a 45 mm prime or 58 mm prime be acceptable?

There's a few prime Nikon lens which are "not quite" 50 mm

Only 50mm shakey. That's the only criterion.

Ronza, I had been through your site and that one stuck out so I was quite glad when you included it.

Thanks MHD, please don't forget.

Unfortunately the response to my call for submissions was almost non-existent. Instead I have decided to just showcase my own 50mm work and link to everyone who had submitted work - thanks guys, much appreciated! The links will be up by next week once collated.

I own Nikkor 50mm F/1.4; I have many pictures captured with this lens. I will upload some pictures later when I have time to sort them out. :)
