I'll try to make myself available for this, but its hard to be 100% certain as my job is rather unpredictable at the moment.
Would dearly love to attend, but none of these dates are looking good for me at the moment, that may change but I will be there in spirit (Glen Fiddich perhaps)....have fun!!

Geoff,
As this is just a headsup of the plan, we can arrange something to fit everybody's availability. Im not sure about my availability on fri nights, but then lets set it as first, who knows what turns up by then
I live in the CBD so I'm definitely up for this. If it's on the 29th or the 1st, I would suggest darling harbour over the quay as I believe there will be some sort of latin dance festival there during the long weekend, should provide extra shooting opportunities.

I'd be up for the 1st or 6th. 29th is Critical Mass followed by Urth Boy. Aside from that I don't really have a preference (except for taking photos
And next Wedcnesday, the 4th, is Bike To Work Day. There's some sort of free breakfast in various places, http://www.bicyclensw.org.au/ridetowork.htm http://www.moz.net.nz
have bicycle, will go to Critical Mass

Where am I
I'll be in Sydney on the 6th, had that night set aside for all my touristy cliche night shots too so it'd be great to meet some DSLRUsers folk...
Wow, sounds like this voiced in some other states members.
Many votes for the 6th for now, still going on the counts. Im very keen in visiting the SOH in PINK, hopefully it will still be pink by next week, or else I 'll have to go see myself this week.
No can do for this Friday as I have other plans. Nikon F80D, FM2n

Just a quick check...
Is everyone available on Saturday 7th evening/night? I didnt realise that I have a family event going on the 6th night, cant stay late.
This get together seemed to suit a lot of people on the 6th - even interstate interest. I'm free for both nights (ATM).
What date suits the majority and the organisers? Suggest we pick the date and confirm it asap.
Yeah this have to be sorted out ASAP. I can show up and get the group started for the fri night, but I dont think I can stay long enough tho.
I'd prefer the 6th. Have plans for the Sat night.

To all interested members:
The show is ON! Date/time/place finalised. Updated on later post Sorry that I didnt check the calendar, right on the 6th of Oct, it is Mid-Autumn festival for the Chinese society. There will be plenty of people around Chinatown and posibly Darling Harbour and CBD area. Can be a photographic opportunity, but since we will have to be deploying tripods on the way, its not ideal to have many people walking around us. And for information only, on the 5-7th of Oct, in the lunar calendar, which is whats to be the perfect round phase of the moon in the year. You may want to bring a long lens with you as well. Im all free on the 7th night, and on the 6th night, I can stay for a little while to get everything started and going, but wont be staying long for sure. My apologies for any inconvenience. Well, so far so good.
Is everybody arriving before 6pm sharp? I will be in the city around 5:00 - 5:30pm. So I wouldnt mind an early meetup for those who can make it early. Please PM me your contact no. if you havent done so.
Anyhow, you're now on the attendance list
You're cutting into my post-work lying in botanic gardens time, but I'm sure I can crawl down to the talking dog by 5pm. http://www.moz.net.nz
have bicycle, will go to Critical Mass
How long do you guys expect to be loitering around the CBD for? If I can make it, I will let you know, but it wouldn't be until about 8pm.
I may even bring a thermos and tea-bags for some P
Yeah, if things go strong, im sure plenty will still be around by 8pm. I cant say for myself cuz Im not sure whether I can stay or not. I'd be expecting a family event dinner on the night, but Im calling in late for it, so I'll see how long I can say, but sure, come along if you please.
I'd expect that be your tripod weight hang? a thermo filled with tea??
Dont be there too early tho, say take a short break at the grass until 5:30 and make your way to the talking dog by 5:30 or 5:45pm? Gee, this group is getting ever bigger than I'd expected at first!! Lets all not wear suspecious clothing... black cameras, long lenses, big tripods, and a group of uhm-usual suspects... its not a good sight on Friday night...
Any chance of an idea of where we'd be headed? I dont want to shoot the same spot tommorow night and then Friday night
I vote for QVB's interior as our first stop so we can freak the security guys out Abel

Your not too late, and Canon people won't be bashed, we are a open and caring bunch here.
I'll be fine then, *my* lenses are a tasteful cream colour. Not like you perverts with your funny clothes and shady protuberences. Moz http://www.moz.net.nz

Matt,

Trying not to create cliche works, so we may leave SOH and SHB to the very last if interested. From top of my head, it can be around Town Hall for start. Then move on to Darling Harbour and surroundings. Some other nearby places around. Lets all hear other's suggestions as well.
