PotW 10.10.06

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

PotW 10.10.06

original thread here

larger image here

This weeks pic of the week is somewhat unusual as it has been stitched together to create a 130mp image! Starting with D70 output, member Yi-P stitched images together to create this 130mp image. Click on the larger image (it is not 130mp here!) to see the detail, it really is quite amazing. This shows what can be done with patience and skill, luckily due to modern software it only took 5 hours to stitch this image together. Well done Yi-P.

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

Absolutely amazing!

You should feel triple proud of your efforts getting POTW this week... the competition was very good.. But this is a great photo by Y-IP and a great choice by Glen...

There you go people, your d70 has a higher resolution than you think!

Thanks Glen for the selection of POTW and everyone here :)

I'm glad that this effort have come to work well. Spending hours waiting for each process to complete. As you wont believe how photoshop hated this image, it used up 800MB RAM + 1.5GB swap space to keep it running... lol each clone stroke takes 30sec to 'compute' the results. But Im very happy about the final results 8) Time to cheer up now

Ohh, who wants to take a look at the 130MP image??
