MC-22 or MC-30?

Postby Gordon on Mon Oct 09, 2006 9:19 pm

Does anyone know if any stores in Oz have the MC-22 (preferably) or MC-30 (thats OK too, I have wire cutters!) in stock? I've phoned lots of places in eastern Oz and no one has either, and the ones who have tried to get them tell me Maxwells dont have them, some have been waiting months for an MC-30.
Its bloody annoying not being able to take exposures longer than 30sec with my D200. :(

Don't know about those but goose here (me if you were uncertain) picked up an mc-eu1 which I find out later is for coolpix - check my sig, see coolpix there??? so if you can make it work with your wire-snippers I'd be happy to offload very reasonably at an idiots discount

I have one of them for my CP5700, but its not much use for what I need, which is a cable with the 10 pin plug that goes into the D200 body.

How about the MC-36? Gary has it in the bargains section.

"Replaces the MC-20 with improved features. Provides Electric Sound Speaker, Shutter Release Active Lamp, Interval Timer, Long Exposure (it can use Interval Timer and Long Exposure simultaneously), Self Timer, TIME Exposure and a Release Hold Mechanism"

I'm in the middle of trying to get hold of one of these at the moment, but since I dont use Paypal I have to send a money order. The Post Office advises that its not a good idea to send money orders in $US which is what the seller asks for, to anywhere other than the US, and the seller asks for the money to be sent to Shanghai. Nor is it a good idea to use Western Union money orders for amounts of less than $150, due to the $20-30 charges that are usually applied, says the warning from the PO.
So I'm writing to the seller again to see where he really is and why the money order shouldn't be sent to "Beavercreek United States" where he says the item is.

A bit expensive and it duplicates some features the D200 already has.
With the MC-22 I can use my old Minolta IR remote which works at up to 100 metres, plus my other home made light beam and sound triggers.
