Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hi

Savage criticism / advice required please...

Thought this guy really looked the part, reasonably happy with the photo, but I'm still trying to get out of 'happy snapper' mode.

Tried the Gorman B&W thing with this one

Realy like this one, 1/6 second exposure! no tripod, just hands of steel! f3.3, ISO400 28mm

There was a row of knackered old carriages, with brambles and barbed wire just waiting for some creative so and so to get a great picture out of it. Unfortunately they only got me, so I took this one and of any one can tell me how to improve it I'll go back next weekend and have another go...

This next photo is 200kb so it’s linked
Can someone tell me if the dark areas on the thistle thing marked on the photo in this link are normal, same sort of pattern can be seen around the window (also marked) I seem to get it on quite a lot of photo's and wondered if it was noise.

CC - I like the last 3 pics. The moved pic has an atmosphere about it that appeals to me.

On your last pic I had a look at the link and it does appear to be noise. I would think that you may have over compensated on your PP. As far as re-shooting the subject (the old railway carriage) it is hard to say without knowing what surrounds it on all sides. The best bet would be to do a series and let us see them.

I really like these photo's (although the first one seems a bit 'staged'), the old carriage in particular. I think this photo would look good as a black & white or sepia. I've got a bit of a fetish for old dilapidated deserted buildings and the like.
