Watch out southerners...

Postby MHD on Mon Oct 23, 2006 9:54 pm

Louise just accepted a postdoc position in Melbourne (Latrobe)!

That means, as of February we will be leaving the leafy Canberra suburbs for the big smoke (and good coffee) of Melbourne.

Still yet to organise the nitty gritty, but depending on what job I get we are looking at living around the Bundoora/kingsbury area...

Looking forward to meeting the Melbourne community!

Just make sure the plae you get is big enough for the kids.

And interstate visitors. :)

Congrats to Louise; this must be a big thrill for her, and all kudos to you in your support of her doing this. It's truuly great to see.

Thanks, It was pretty much agreed, he/she with the best postdoc offer wins... and hers was a good one.

Fortunately, Melbournes rental market seems far more reasonable than both Sydney and Canberra... So I am looking at a third bedroom/serverroom/studio :)

And flights from Melbourne to Sydney seem cheaper than Canberra to Sydney...
Bloody public servants :)

Great news Scott and Louise!
Canberra and Sydney's loss, Melbourne's significant gain!
Congratulations, a life changing event - you two deserve this!!

Scott, congrats to Louise. Bundoora/Kingsbury is not a bad area. I live in an adjoining suburb, and often take the Corgi for a walk around the Latrobe Uni lake.
