Anyone want to do a Perth Wedding?

Postby Justin on Mon Nov 06, 2006 10:07 am

I'm having a fairly low-key ceremony on Saturday 30th December, in the afternoon.

Just looking for someone to come along and take photos - I'll give you a flash card when you get there and you can give it back to me at the end, so all you have to do is turn up, snap away for a couple of hours and know you've been a part of making my day!

Happy to cover reasonable costs / hourly rate perhaps $50/hr - remember you have no post-processing to do.

I would prefer someone with a little experience, however not mandatory - I would even be happy if a couple of you wanted to share the experience.

Would also be happy to sign a release if you wanted to use these in your portfolio.

PM or reply here if you are interested.

Hi, Doesn't look like Yi-p will be able to make it to Perth.

To clarify I am looking for someone in Perth who could do this.

Is it an indoors or outdoors wedding (or both)? Where is is taking place?
I wouldn't mind coming along, however I'd rather be an additional photographer rather than the main one :)
I've done a friends' wedding before but my main business is outdoors action photography. So this would be a welcome experience for me.

You can PM me with details if you don't want them posted here. I'm south of the river btw.

Outdoors at Jundalup (sp?) park I think.

this is not a big formal wedding - this is more about having you there to take photos so that I don't have to give any of the family or friends the responsibility. There are only going to be about 20-30 guests

So it would be pretty basic - bring the flash if need be (with the harsh Perth sun and shadows it might be neccessary) - and hold the button down and take lots of snaps for a couple of hours. As long as they are mostly in focus I will be happy!

Some group shots etc. I can provide aa 35-70 2.8 as per my signature line for portraits, the other lenses you have will be perfect.

Edit: I can also lend my SB800.

Hey Tim, just found your site (hope you don't mind me posting) at http://www.yourdogphotos.com/ - whilst this isn't dogs jumping over stuff (not that sort of wedding  ) I think you've got a great handle on outdoor exposure and capturing the decisive moment - the tricks in weddings are the rings and the kiss, that's about it 8)

Edit: I misread the date as 30 November, I'm not in OZ on 30 December. Sincere apologies!

Apart from being tight , any reason why you wouldn't support a local wedding photography business in Perth?

I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"

Maybe he just wants to give a budding wedding photographer the chance to break free and have the opportunity to do shoot 'another' initial wedding?

Thumbs up to you asking Justin! :)

Hey Simon, excellent thank you I'll PM you my mobile.

Padey - I just shot a wedding for the experience - Geoff has hit the nail on the head - I thought I'd come to the forum first to share the opportunity.

And if I have to pay $1000+ for a photog to be honest I just can't afford that and will rope in a guest to do it - so I ain't saving money if I'm not going to spend it!
