Picture of the week 14 November 2006Well I'm a bit late posting picture of the week this week. I'd like to say it was because I had a hard time choosing (which I did), but the real reason is I forgot it was my turn
I'd like to start by giving two honourable mentions. The first to Keith (Firsty) for his excellent lighthouse shot HERE and the second to MattyO for his Perth panos HERE. However the image i finally settled on is the one below from Stargazer. It's a very striking image of a hard to capture subject. It's well lit and shows the powerful side of nature in all its glory. Congratulations Paul. EDIT: You can find the original post which also includes two other great lightning shots by Paul HERE Last edited by stubbsy on Tue Nov 14, 2006 8:51 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Great work Paul, excellent shot. Nice choice Peter. Geoff

A worthy winner this week. It's a very difficult challenge to get a shot of lightning this good. Firstly you need the right conditions, which doesn't happen that often, plus you need to be in the right place at the right time. Then there's the photography issues to top it all off.
Great image. Steve.

I'm sure a few insurance companies would have loved that strike as well. Simon
www.colberne.com.au I purchased a Teddy Bear this morning for the sum of $10. I named him Mohammed. This afternoon I sold him on E-Bay for $30. My question is, "Have I made a prophet?"
Amazing stuff, congrats on POTW, well deserving, great timing, always love enjoying spectacular lightning shots, Ozi.
