Wow! I'm a happy chappy today Thanks for the news Scott.
I must admit I wasn't happy with my selection for this, had another one in mind but couldn't find the original file in time! Glad to hear it's already sold though, makes me glad and proud to have been involved. Well done to all, this is a great extension of the forum - one that I hope we can expand on in the future with other similar opportunities. *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Hear Hear! I can vouch for the exhibition - I was there too; the photos were great and an overall fine evening!
Glad to have met Scott (and his lovely wife) and Wayne (hope I got your name right) who was snapping away - thanks for the tips too for the new kid on the block! P/S: Consider this coming out of lurker mode Cheers, Ka-Meng
Rayz,
If this has brought you our from lurker mode, then so be it. Scott, great stuff. Poon, Sheepie, Rokkstar: again, great news that these images have already been sold, and so quickly. I'll let Poon know. This is just awsome, and I am so proud of, and so humbled by, the efforts of everyone involved in this most worthy cause. g.

The pics were of the highest standard in the gallery, so thanks all. As a reference, about 10% of the images were sold on the night, and 10% of ours. So we were successful in selling on par with other contributors. I am sure many more will sell throughout the week as corporates come through during business hours. I have a few images of the night, but I am sure Wayne will post many for all to enjoy from his new machine!!! Whole hearted thanks to all!!! Have a great weekend(see you at the melbourne portaiture workshop Sunday). Oz
A very inspiring night from not only the contributors but from the organisers as well.
Just because the pics don't sell doesn't necessarily mean that the photographers didn't take great pics. I guess at the end of the day is what sparks more interest with the buyers. It's early days as well as the exhibition runs for an entire week. Here are some pics from the night: Scott being an Anthony Robbins Robyn and Pat (organiser) Pat and Allison (tapestry maker) Romy Johnston (Eye Research Australia Foundation), Helen Sorensen (State Fundaraising Co-ordinator for the Fred Hollows Foundation) and Professor Rasik Vajpayee (Eye Research Australia Foundation) Full night's gallery is here Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

Wayne, had a look at all the pics you took at the event and it felt like as if I was there. Great job in covering the event.
Its great to see all those photographs hanging on the wall!!
Certainly, by the looks of it, our pictures are not weak against the 'competitors'
Far from it... as I said.... one of ours sold first (as far as I can tell) New page

Thanks for capturing the night....It was just like being there! And you did a damned good job of it! Scott Thanks for getting up and pitching for the forum. We are waiting for a transcript? Well done to all concerned! Perhaps as a forum we could do something here in Sydney for the Hollows foundation? I find it kind of ironic that we who love to see so much should help those who can't see at all. Any ideas? Regards
Matt. K
I've been thinking along the same lines Matt - I think we need to get our thinking caps on *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
kudos to everyone about the pics i've sent the photos to a few key people involved and they're happy with it, so the dslr rep. just keeps expanding

heheh... in the end I winged it a bit... I wrote a speech pitching the forum but the intro I was given made the speech inapropriate... I still did a good pitch job, but from a "what inspires me" perspective... I also did a sell job on a select few images describing the situation they were taken in... And yes, sorry for not using the podium... I hate microphones... New page

I haven't seen anything that bad since the APEC meeting of '98 where they ran out of those hot little kimono numbers and everyone on John Howards staff wanted one so they could look just like him.

I have just spoken with the organiser, and she is out of town, so I have limited info at this stage.
13-14 images sold during the exhibition, and she has one corporate buyer who will make some further purchases this week. The Fred Hollows foundation have offerred to take stock of any unsold prints, at the permission of all photographers, so please PM me if you want yours. The foundation will auction them at other events. Please let me know your preferences. I have asked for the list of those which have sold. thanks all for help, support, and contribution. Oz
Oz,
Thank you for the update. Much appreciated. g.

Oz - thanks for the info.
They can have mine too, though I suspect it will be cluttering up their storeroom for quite a while. Simon
